I must admit that I absolutely love reading books on health and wellness. My latest read is Sexy By Nature by Stefani Ruper. It’s about healing your body through eating as close to nature as possible and promotes a primarily Paleo diet. I have read quite a few books on the Paleo diet and I must admit that I feel a lot better when I’m eating that way. I am only through the first part of the book, but so far, I like it. Stefani does a good job at focusing on the mind, body, and spirit aspects of eating and about healing your body instead of just going on another diet. The main reason why I am intrigued by this book is because I recently tried Weight Watchers and MyFitnessPal and both plans made me feel restricted and depressed. I lasted for about two weeks on both and then quit and proceeded to binge for the entire day. Stefani emphasizes that it’s the quality of the calories you eat over the quantity, which would explain why I still felt like crap even though I was eating less. I am a master at sticking to my WW points while still eating garbage :), which is why it’s not the best diet for me. As I get older, I find that I care a lot about my looks, but even more about my health. I plan on putting the advice in this book into practice. I will keep you guys updated on my progress.
