Oatmeal for Breakfast


I’ve always loved the ‘idea’ of oatmeal. It smells so warm and good when it’s cooking, especially when sprinkled with cinnamon. I also love the texture of oatmeal. It’s so thick and creamy. It’s easy and quick to make and seems like the perfect breakfast.

However, I’ve always hated the taste of oatmeal, so bland and boring. I’ve tried to eat it quite a few times, especially since it’s so good for you and keeps you full for longer. However, the oatmeal that actually tastes good has way too much sugar, which defeats the purpose.

But finally, I’ve found a way to eat oatmeal that I like and that’s good for me. I enjoy adding small chunks of apple, almond milk and cinnamon to steel cut oats cooked slowly on the stovetop. It helps make the oatmeal taste delicious and nutritious, without all of the sugar. Sometimes I even add a little butter.

With fruit, protein, fiber and fat, it’s a complete breakfast that keeps me full all morning.
