I love sushi. If it weren’t for the fear of parasites and mercury poisoning I would eat it every day. My fave are California rolls, spicy tuna rolls and deep sea rolls that can only be found at Kanki (see below-the tempura roll in the back…yummy).

Every time my husband and I visit Kanki we always sit at the sushi bar and I get 1 full and 1/2 of the deep sea roll (yeah, it’s that good). When it comes, I’m like a kid in a candy store, like a virgin touched for the very first time, like Johnny Manziel on draft day…

And when I get that first bite, the explosion of warmth and flavor bursts through my mouth and I close my eyes and moan. Literally, I moan. Then, I savor each and every piece because eating it is like one long orgasm. I sulk when it is over and am tempted to order one more roll…but I don’t. I just savor the moment and look forward to next time.

  1. That’s how I feel about Okinawa’s California Roll and Crunchy Roll. Mmmm! I’m leery about uncooked fish, so I always get the cooked in my rolls.
