So, it’s official.

I am getting my hair dreadlocked on Tuesday. I cannot wait. I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I’ve decided that I really want to do it. It’s a little scary because my hair has been natural for the past 8 years and has grown so long. I haven’t put any chemicals or heat on my hair for that entire time. I’ve been wearing a lot of weaves and wigs as protective styles, but I have refused to do anything permanent to my natural hair besides letting it grow, grow, grow. Dreadlocks are so permanent, and once my hair is locked the only way to change it is to cut it all off and start over, which I do not want to do. Here’s to hoping that I will look incredibly sexy and regal with dreads, like Duchess from Black Ink Crew (above).

I will post a pic once I get them done. Until next time beautiful!

  1. Once you start 2 grow ur locs and they actually start 2 loc up . Your will be suprised how long ypur hair will grow. Honestly speaking dreadlocks are not as permanent as you may think. There are many people who have decided to stop growing their locs and did not cut them off. Thats just the easy way. check out dreadlocks.org. :-)Glad you made the decision 2 join the loc family. Im 3 1/2 yrs in and never had the thought 2 get rid of em. I 2 was rockin the fro a few yrs b4 and was honestly scared 2 start them. But here i am now! Good luck and remember 2 b patient with them.

    1. I like it. It’s really a process to keep it this way but I enjoy not having to do my hair every morning. Finding the right products is hard too.
