Create Your Own Indoor Window Gardens

Gardens are so pretty, especially around this time of year. And there is just something so rewarding about digging your hands in the dirt and planting beautiful things, then watching them blossom and grow.

But, if you’re like me, and you live in an apartment, outdoor gardening may not be an option. So, why not try making an indoor garden? All you need is a small place near a window with lots of direct sunlight.

You can use old tins in place of pots, which means less cleanup from water spillage and they look a lot more decorative. Just rinse out your old tins, fill them with dirt and plant your favorite things. The best indoor plants are ones that are both small and interesting (they make good conversation pieces). A few of my favorites are the asparagus fern, baby toes, air plants, the succulent, and living stones. They work great because they are small and won’t outgrow the tin. You could also grow your own herb garden with herbs like sage, cilantro, and oregano.

Happy gardening pretty girl!

  1. I’ve yet to try a window garden, but want to. This summer, I’m hoping to grow some cilantro in the garden. Love fresh herbs!
