When I was younger, I would run everywhere. You could always find me outside playing, racing the boys (and beating all of them). In fact, I was the fastest kid in my neighborhood. I had dreams of running professionally, maybe joining a track team, and even competing for the Olympics.
Fast forward to age 10, when my breasts started to really come in and I needed a training bra. I was one of the only girls in elementary school that needed a bra. If you are top-heavy, then you know how uncomfortable it is to run. Your breasts bounce up and down, feeling like they will fall off at any minute. And no matter how supportive your sports bra claims to be, it is nearly impossible to find one that can keep things from jiggling out of place.
Needless to say, I gave up my running career. However, the idea of being a runner has never left me. I often admire people who go for a run. I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who goes for a morning run, or who straps on those running shoes after a stressful day at work. Essentially, I’ve always wanted to be able to say that I am a runner. I run.
In that spirit, I have decided to take up running. Now, I’m not crazy. I’m going to start off walking on a daily basis and build up to adding jogging sprints to my walking, and then solely jogging, and then running. It’s a process, but I hope to be able to say in six months that I am indeed a runner. Below are some products that I’m going to invest in to truly make running a part of my life.
If you have any great ideas or tips for me, please let me know.
See you on the road pretty girl!
