On Admiring Yourself

I am a firm believer in the power of thoughts and intentions. When asked who I look up to, or who do I most admire, I always say myself. That may sound self-serving, or conceited, but it is far from it. You have to believe in yourself. You have to be your own hero. If you can’t see the growth and progress in yourself, then who will? I’m sure Bill Gates admires himself, as does Oprah, Beyonce, and Barack Obama. You don’t get to that level without some major self-confidence. Especially in the face of criticism. At times, we can be our own worst critics. We are often able to easily see our flaws and shortcomings, but have a harder time giving credit where credit is due when it comes to our successes and triumphs. Which is why I am my own hero. I am proud of how far I have come, and I plan on going even farther in the months and years to come.

To us, pretty girl!
