I love text messages. And instant messaging. And social media sites. I love photo editing apps. I love them all because they allow you to edit yourself before you post. They allow you to present the you that you want the world to see. You can ensure that the you that you show to the world is the most perfect version of yourself.
But, in real life, you are who you are. There’s no taking a hundred selfies to get the right one. There aren’t any filters, photoshop or special effects. You can’t spellcheck what comes out of your mouth. You can’t edit the you in the real world. That you that everyone sees is the real you.
Everything else is simply an illusion.
