While I have a super long way to go, I am happy to say that over the past three months I have lost 30 pounds. It wasn’t easy, and many days my weight stayed the same, but overall, it has continued to go down.
The thing about weight loss is that it looks a lot like the stock market, minor ups and downs, with a few major drops (yay!) and hopefully very, very few major gains (ugh!). Either way, my weight loss has never been a smooth slope. But, despite the fluctuations, I have lost 30 pounds. And I’m pretty darn proud of that.
So, how did I do it?
I wish that I could say that I started eating salads and working out at least five times a week, but that would be a lie. I hate salad. It literally makes me sick. And I don’t have time to workout. I really don’t. Between work, being a mom and a wife, I barely have time to breathe. While I would love to make time to work out, I’m not there…yet.
So, what did I do to lose weight? I changed my overall habits. I started bringing my lunch to work every day instead of grabbing something or going to a drive-thru after work, which was a really bad habit. I also started trying to get up and walk around more while at work and while at home. Sometimes Carter and I will just put on some music and dance. And I’ve been cooking about 3-4 times a week, which keeps us from eating out so much.
I’m sure that if I started working out consistently and eating even healthier, I could reach my goal by the end of this year.
So, I’m challenging all of you pretty girls to challenge me. For every like of this post, I will work out for one day and avoid junk food for one day.
