If you have a problem with being on time, this post is for you. Below are three sure-fire ways to make sure you’re on time for every appointment in 2016.
- Rig your clocks. Push all the clocks in your house and the clock in your car up by at least five minutes (ten if you’re really bad about being on time). That way, as you’re getting dressed, making breakfast, packing lunch, or driving, you’ll be keeping track of time on clocks that are fast. This works perfectly because even if you leave the house “late” according to the clock, you’ll actually be five or ten minutes earlier than you would have been had you kept your clocks on the accurate time. We do this at our house, and you’d be surprised at how much of a difference five minutes makes.
- Ring the alarm. Alarms aren’t just for waking up. With most smart phones, you can set multiple alarms. So, if you need to leave the house by 9:00 a.m., set an alarm for 8:45 a.m., 8:50 a.m., 8:55 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. I recommend setting multiple alarms as opposed to pushing snooze, as that can become a bad habit.
- Prep the night before. I like to go ahead and pick out what I’m going to wear the night before. I also like to make lunch and prep breakfast the night before. I make sure my work tote is packed and ready to go and that my lunch bag is packed and in the fridge. I also lay out everything I need to get my son ready in the mornings the night before. This cuts back on the amount of time I spend getting ready in the morning and helps to keep me from being late.
