What if You Fly?

unnamed (9)

My favorite quote is from Marianne Williamson.

In it, she says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I love this quote because I’ve always been quiet and shy.  Too afraid to talk, to speak up, to tell others how I feel.  I’ve always been worried about what others would think of me.  I’ve always wanted to make people feel safe and unthreatened by me, so I would speak a little, listen a lot, and shrink.

Be invisible.

But why?  My talents are just as strong and worthy as anyone else’s.  I have a light within me that deserves to be let out.  Why should I play small?  Why should I let other’s insecurities affect my life?

We stand in the sunshine each time we refuse to play small.  Each time we follow our dreams.  Each time we pursue our passions.  Each time we choose to the road less traveled when we are told not to.

Creating this blog began as an idea.  An outlet and a way for me to express myself.  But, it has grown into something more.  It has now become my passion.  I’ve invested so much into seeing this through, to seeing it succeed.  To seeing it grow and flourish and bring me the income I deserve for all of my hard work.  I’ve stepped out on the ledge and I’ve jumped into this with everything I have.

And what if I fall?

Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?
